Are You Interested in Applying for One of Our Scholarships?
Here's how.

There are five scholarships available: 

​

1) The WLME Scholarship is $1,000.00. To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must be a Senior, have a 3.0 GPA or higher, have been accepted to attend college in the Fall of 2025, and plans to attend a Historically Black College/University (HBCU). 

​

2) The James Simmons Memorial Scholarship is $1,000. This scholarship is awarded to any high school student with a physical or mental disability who has been accepted to college and plans to attend in the fall of 2025. It is funded by James and Sandra Simmons.

3) The Sean White Memorial Scholarship is $1,000.00. It will be awarded to a student who has demonstrated high scholastic achievement, been accepted to college, and plans to attend a HBCU in the fall of 2025. Preference is given to those students who plan to study psychology.  This scholarship is funded by former State Representative Harry Lewis and Regina Lewis.

4) The Inez E. DeBaptiste Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student who has excelled academically, been accepted to any college, and plans to attend in the fall of 2025. This memorial scholarship is funded by Dr. Clifford E. DeBaptiste in memorial to his wife, Inez E. De Baptiste.

5) The Rodney Perry Memorial Scholarship is $1,000.  This scholarship is for any student from the Coatesville Area School District who plans to attend college in the fall of 2025.  To be eligible for this scholarship, you must have a 3.0 GPA or higher. 

Each applicant must complete the scholarship application, attach their high school transcript, two letters of reference and submit a 300 word essay on why he/she should receive the specific scholarship. The completed application package must be sent to 1513 West Chester Road, Coatesville, PA 19320 and received by April 30th, 2025. 

Applicants are evaluated based on their personal essay, which asks the student to discuss their ambitions, how the pursuit of higher education can help them to realize their dreams, and why they should be a recipient of the scholarship.  We also evaluate the students based on what they include in their application, such as extracurricular activities, if their parents attended higher education, and more. 

All scholarships will be presented at our 44th Annual Scholarship and Award Recognition Event.
